We asked these ladies to answer the following question:

What is your #1 blogging tip and words of encouragement for other female bloggers?

STICK WITH IT! I know it is so easy to compare yourself to other bloggers and to compare numbers, but you always need to remind yourself that YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN PATH. Success does not happen over night, it takes a lot of work and effort to achieve your blogging goals. Just stick with it and don’t let comparing yourself get you down, you’ve got this! – Taylor

Collaborate, I can’t say this enough! Collaborate with local bloggers, make relationships with boutique owners, send that email to your favorite blogger! Water those seeds and flowers will bloom ! – Courtney

Two things that continue to help me…do not compare yourself to others and stay true to yourself and your style. These sound like very simple tasks, but you will find yourself comparing and questioning on a regular basis. So, be sure to stay strong in who you are and where you are on your blogging adventure. Xo – Whitney

#1 blogging tip would be stay consistant with your content. Dont give up, keep pushing and pushing with your content! Set a few blogging goals, and after you reach those goals set new ones! The most rewarding moment is when you reach those goals! Never give up on something you believe in! And finally, always be a #girlboss – Victoria

Be active and engaging with your followers! It means a ton and makes a huge difference. Comment back, ask questions, let them get to know you! – Stefanie

Just be YOU!!! I’ve learned that comparing myself to other bloggers and their success doesn’t help me become better. It actually makes me feel like I don’t measure up. I much rather celebrate their success and their brand opportunities. But, we can learn from those who have been there and don’t that. We are all talented and have so much to share with others. The amount of followers and the amount of collaborations doesn’t make us more important. We are already valuable and important so just be who you are and share what you love. People are drawn to passion and positivity!! Can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for all of us. – Angelle

Stay true to yourself! Build content that you love and don’t worry about what everyone else is doing! – Kristin

It’s okay to take a break for refocusing to stay true to yourself. – Mandi

Have fun! A lot of people start blogs to get famous or get free things. If that’s your only goal you might end up being disappointed. Have fun with each post you make. If it’s not something you would want to read, chances are others won’t either. – Esther

If you have a passion for blogging, are persistent with your work, and are patient with the result (3 p’s) it will be the most rewarding “job/hobby/creative outlet” you will experience! Stay true to yourself, have a vision, and get ready to do the work. In the end all that matters is those couple people who you really get to connect with and be apart of their lives! – Dede

Maintain your own unique style when it comes to your approach to blogging, capturing photos, and expressing your thoughts. With so many women sharing their passion and opinions in the world, the reason someone picks to embrace your words is because they like what you have to say, and the way you say it! Your personality and unique touch will bring you a genuine and engaged audience! – Danielle

Stay active post at least 2 times a day. Be consistent and persistent with your content. – Amy

Don’t think too hard about a picture you want to post on Instagram, if it means something to, or just wanna share it go for it, don t worry about likes, or comments. your followers know when you’re being genuine, it makes you more personable. Post away 🙂 – Leonor

Don’t compare yourself to anyone, be you. – Caroline

Be confident and don’t compare. Tearing others down, doesn’t build you up. – Bri

Do not compare yourself to other bloggers. What you are doing is great and the only person you should compare yourself to is you in an effort to strive to improve! – Samantha

Keep doing what you are good at and do not compare yourself to others! If you are passionate about what you write, that itself will come across to your following. – toby

Sometimes, it’s easy to lose your blogging gusto – soak up inspiration like a sponge, by catching up on fellow bloggers’ Instagram feeds and blog posts. – Jenn

Do not compare yourself to others. Everyone’s journey is different and if you have patience and passion, you will succeed. Make sure that you’re blogging for the right reasons (making money should not be the #1 reason). If you feel in your gut that this is what you’re meant to do, then everything else will fall into place. Engage, engage, engage – build relationships with other bloggers and learn from them. – Gail

My #1 blogging tip is to BE YOURSELF! It’s so easy to get caught up in what other bloggers are doing, especially those who are super successful, but don’t let what they are doing distract you from your opinions, style or interests. Even if you only have a small following, people are liking what you are putting out there, so just be you! I have found that authenticity is what keeps the loyal followers coming back time and again! – Kristen

Remember that comparison is the thief of joy. Everything you do, be authentic to yourself, your values, and you will build a personal brand that is unparalleled. Learn from all your Style Collective sisters and be willing to help others when they need support. We are all stronger together, and have such an amazing sisterhood being formed through SC. A year ago I never would have imagined I would be able to lean on such a vast array of intelligent, genuine, kind, and wonderful women to help me on my journey of blogging and business ownership. – Erin

Stay true to yourself and be patient with the speed of your progress and your growth, don’t try to rush things. Blog about things that you are truly passionate about and absolutely love, don’t just take anything and everything that comes to you. It has to fit your style and your topic. Most of all, have fun with it and don’t be afraid to ask any Style Collective Sister for any advice, we are here to help and lift each other up. – Anna

Engage with many bloggers and find local bloggers in your area and reach out – Jessica

I truly believe the most important thing as a blogger is to stay true to yourself. Create content that is unique to your lifestyle and fashion. Your readers will feel a special connection with you because you are creating original content that excites and empowers both you and your readers. The best advice I can give is just be yourself! – Audrey

Remember why you started your blog in the first place! Bloggers can get caught up in making money and comparing numbers, but your blog is most importantly a creative outlet and reflection of you. Yes, treat it like a business and be professional but remember the why behind each post. – Krista

My number one tip would be to be very selective about what courses you buy. Don’t be brought in by flashy emails and stunning sites. You can get a lot of the information for free from your Style Collective sisters and Style Collective. It’s also important to remember not to compare your journey to everyone else’s, have fun and enjoy your trip! – Ariel

Do not compare your chapter 10 to someone else’s chapter 20. Comparing will only take away energy you could spend creatively! Every blogging journey is unique. That’s what makes this community amazing and interesting! – Julianna

You never know until you try! It’s all about experimenting and see what works for you. – Mindy

My best advice for female bloggers is to give yourself permission to be proud of your blog. You may have a destination in mind that you haven’t achieved yet, and that’s ok. Be proud of the progress you’ve made and the community you are fostering.

Be proud of the time and effort you put into creating content, writing posts, interacting with the community, and pitching brands. Share your successes and failures with your supporters (either the people in your life who support you or your followers – your choice!) and be open about how important your blog is to you. This will help others to understand why you devote so much time and effort to your cause, and why sometimes you must sacrifice other things (a coffee date, a movie, an extra hour of sleep) to push forward on your blogging goals.

Learn to take compliments and get comfortable with the assertion that you are an expert on whatever you blog about. You don’t have to have any credentials to share relevant and helpful information. As long as you are being authentic to yourself and your passion, you should feel good about asserting your blogging identity.

Lastly, and this is perhaps my most important piece of advice, never put your blog down. Don’t refer to it as “”only a little side hobby thing I do…”” and don’t make it sound smaller or less important than it is. Not only will you find that others are more excited about it when you share your excitement with them, but stating loud and proud will also legitimize blogging in other people’s minds.

Share your passion, be proud, and own your blog. Just do it, and thank me later 🙂

Oh – and join Style Collective. It’s the absolute best way to grow your confidence and grow your blog. Good luck! – Caitlin

Start and don’t give up. Don’t put off starting because you don’t know everything there is to know about blogging. Once you start, don’t give up! You will have days you will question who and what you are all about, if you stick around to find the answers you will be stronger, more experienced and surrounded by a supportive collective that will cheer you on. Always participate in the different events going on, you will learn much from seasoned bloggers and it will come in handy on your down days. If you need to step away for a little bit, take a deep breath, regroup and recollect. But, don’t give up! – Zulma

Take the time in the beginning to think about your personal brand because this will help differentiate yourself from other bloggers. Branding includes your passions/interests, content categories, personal style, color palettes, and target audience. Stay consistent, but also don’t be afraid to redefine your brand and let your followers grow with you over time. – Emily

Invest the most time in what you own. Your blog, newsletter, app are all yours and nobody can take that away from you. – Jo

My #1 blogging tip would be to stay authentic and true to your brand always. Trends will come and go, but remember that your readers started following your blog for a reason! – Morgan

Make a regular schedule and stick to it! This is perhaps the hardest part when starting out, especially if your blog is not your full time job, but the fruits of the labour really shine through. Traffic and engagement all come through with regular content creation. The more you create, the more traffic you’ll get, just from SEO alone. – Maggie

Be authentic and engage with your following. When you have a connection with your followers they will trust your words and purchase the clothes you write about, try the recipes you post, take the advice you give and continue visiting your site! – Jessica

You don’t need to hustle 24/7, nor do you need to quit your job to feel truly fulfilled in your brand new blog. Just do what makes you happy WHEN it makes you happy, photograph what inspires you, your favorite looks, your makeup picks, your outfit flatlay, and share those things from a genuine place. that doesnt mean 2x posts a day, or a strict rule about posts per week. Quality over Quantity, and I can’t express enough how much of a difference true and genuine personality conveys on social media, and how important it is for building your brand. Just remember to DO YOU, and dont compare yourself to others. Each bloggers journey comes from a different place, and a different starting point. Share your unique journey and don’t look back!! – jordan

Make professional looking photos a priority!! There are so many talented photographers out there that would love to collaborate with bloggers, whether they’re paid positions or an exchange of services. One way I love to meet new photographers is attending Instameets! It’s a great way to get connected with the creative community, practice your modeling skills, and possibly get featured on photography IG’s which will expand your reach. – Meaghan

Don’t be afraid to reach out to companies you’d like to work with (even if you don’t have a large following) Many of the times they will say yes! – Jessica

One of the best pieces of advice I can give is to keep going no matter what. Even when the only person reading your blog is your mom, or when affiliate programs or companies reject you, or when you don’t get enough comments/likes/followers. Know that good things take time so just keep pushing yourself, keep smiling, and keep doing you! One of my favorite quotes that speaks to this is by Natalie Goldberg, “Follow what you love and it will take you where you want to go.” – janna

My # tip is don’t compare yourself to anyone else and to be you! – Donna

Stay true to yourself and your values. Find what makes you unique and be open to sharing it with others. Everyone might not love you, but the ones who support you are the only people you need to focus on! – Ciera

Be true to yourself. – Shell

Be relatable, but stand out in your own unique way! – Valerie

Never ever give up. To be a blogger can be really hard at times. Creating content, scheduling photo shoots, not to mention getting ready for them, finding locations, the list goes on. Feeling uninspired is always part of a creators process, but try to circle back to what gave you that passion in the start and let that reignite you. Encouragement: So cliche but always stay true to you. It’s wonderful to get inspiration from others but don’t let that change you. People will love you for YOU, not who you’re trying to be. – Candice

I would say the most important thing to remember when you’re blogging (and all the crazy social media requirements that go along with it!), it that it is just a blog. I know it’s important, but NEVER let it come before your family and those who truly matter in your life. What’s on the screen can wait- you never know what will happen next to the people in your life, don’t make them wait. – Kait

Create content that makes you come alive and that is true to who you are. Your readers love authenticity and uniqueness. I read a quote recently from blogger Erica Ligenza “You cannot blog to make money.  Blog to make value. When you are making VALUE , you can make money. – Ruthie
