Instagram just released a new feature that allows users to add up to 10 (!!) pieces of content (photos, videos, and boomerangs) to a multi-content / carousel style post. This update really shows marketers and content creators just how important story telling and authenticity are for creating an emotional connection with your readers.

“With this update, you no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember. Share your favorite moments of your best friend’s surprise birthday party – from setting up to when they walk through the door. Or create a step-by-step cake recipe that people can always find on your profile.” Instagram

Overall, we think that this update is MAJ for content creators (in a good way!) and here are our ideas for how bloggers can effectively leverage Instagram’s new multi-content posts.

Showcase your #ootd and detail shots

This will show your followers multiple angles so they think, “cute!”

ICYMI end of the week recap

Do an end of week recap to get people to your blog!

One piece, 3 ways

We just saw someone style a choker multiple ways in a carousel post and it was so creative! You can also extend this to any wardrobe piece in your closet.

Vacation highlights

Do you travel a lot? Show your readers a highlight reel and direct them to your blog to see the rest!

DIY tutorial

Show the step-by-step photos for a makeup or hair tutorial!

Flat-Lay carousel

Show each piece you’re wearing in a cute flat-lay, then show a photo of you wearing the outfit!

One photo, 3 ways

Don’t have a ton of content to share? Take one photo and divide it into 3 pieces of content showing different parts of the photo up close. It’s a great way to stop the panic attacks about needing even MORE content to share!

Our #1 tip would always make sure you include a call to action as your last photo! Craft a cute graphic encouraging followers to do something for you: sign up for your newsletter, follow you on snapchat, etc. Use this multi-content feature to your full advantage to grow your platform.
